Term 3 Dates 24th July – 29th September
First of all a welcome to all new students and I hope you enjoy your studies at Muirden.
Claire Kellaway is taking some long overdue long service leave and will not return until next year. Her classes have been taken by various teachers.
Lan Lieu will teach stage 2 General Maths
Ryan Lynch will teach Stage 2 Information Processing and Publishing
A teacher new to the college Thomas Liggins will be teaching the Stage 1&2 Information Technology classes as well as stage 1 General Maths. Tom will also be teaching students in the Essential Maths class in stage 1.
Tom Liggins comes to us from Richmond State School (in rural Western Queensland). His specialities lie in Arts Technology and Mathematics. Tom has worked at various schools in Queensland including the innovative Music Industry College. He has also worked as VET graphic pre-press industry teacher with the RTO provider Cambridge International College and in Advertising as Mac operator/designer.
We welcome Tom to the college and consider ourselves fortunate to have someone so proficient in these areas.
There will be a Uni Expo on 8th August 10-12 which all year 12 students are encouraged to attend. UniSA will do an individual presentation on 29/8
There will also be a session for year 12s run by Kirrilie Smout from Psychology in Education. This will be held at the college and the exact date will be known within the next few weeks. The purpose of this session is to assist students deal with the final weeks of their studies. The last minute nerves, exam preparation and how to see their way through the final ‘workload’ which can seem daunting.
Sausage Sizzle - there will be another one this term, exact date to be announced. Last terms was much fun, with music dancing, table tennis and Uno (making a return!) The photos are up on the website and our Facebook page.
