VISUAL ARTS – ART

Art follows an organic thought process based on free choice concepts. Students are expected to conceive, develop, and make works of art that reflect individuality, and a personal aesthetic. Students demonstrate visual thinking through the development and evaluation of ideas, and explorations in technical skills with media and materials. The application of technical skills are used to problem solve and resolve works of art or design, as well as analyse, interpret, and respond to visual arts in cultural, social, and historical contexts.

VISUAL ARTS – DESIGN

Design focuses on using the design process to produce graphic, communication, product, or environmental designs. Students are expected to conceive, develop, and make designs that reflect individuality, and a personal aesthetic. Students demonstrate visual thinking through the development and evaluation of ideas, and explorations in technical skills with media and materials. The application of technical skills are used to problem solve and resolve works of art or design, as well as analyse, interpret, and respond to visual arts in cultural, social, and historical contexts.
